Dear WCA Families,
We’re looking forward to a great time at the WCA Fall Retreat to Camp Friendship on October 8–9!
If your student is joining the overnight retreat, please check the attached packing list to help them prepare. If your family has chosen to opt out, your student will need to complete remote learning modules from home on Wednesday and Thursday (October 8–9).
A few important reminders:
- No school on Friday, October 10 for Fifth Grade and Upper School students.
- Pre-K through 4th Grade will have school as usual from October 8–10.
- If your student needs to take medication during the retreat, please drop it off at the front desk by Tuesday, October 7.
- Don’t forget to complete and email the Camp Friendship Participation Waiver to Mrs. Ferguson (fergusonj@williamsburgchristian.org) by Tuesday, October 7.
Retreat Day Logistics (Wednesday, October 8):
- Please arrive at school by 8:00 AM.
- The bus departs at 9:00 AM sharp.
- The estimated return is around 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 9.
You’ll receive a text update with a more accurate arrival time on Thursday.

- Clay Shoot: Our annual Clay Shoot is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1. There will be awards and giveaways. For more information about sponsorship opportunities and registration, please click on the link to register.
- Fifth Grade only: If you do not wish your child to attend the Upper School Retreat, please have your student catch up with all modules remotely at home on Wednesday, October 8, and Thursday, October 9. Please note that Friday, October 10, will be Head of School holiday for the Fifth Grade and the Upper School.
- PK-4: Classes for grades K–4 will still be in session October 8–10.
- Academy Performing Arts (APA) will be starting up again after fall break. APA is an after-school drama club for 3rd-5th graders. Admittance is by application only, and not all students are guaranteed to be admitted. Ms. LaPointe will send an email out with more details to all 3rd-5th-grade families over fall break.
- Junior Eagles Soccer: It will begin on October 15 for registered students in grades 2-5. Junior Eagles Participation Form
- Lower School Connections Meeting: Friday, November 14, at 8:15 am in the cafeteria.

- Preschool and K-12 will be closed for Thanksgiving break from November 26-28
- The PWCA would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated food and drinks for the learning facilitators during family academic conferences.
