WCA Week at a Glance, July 22-26

  • Short-stay program: We will host our short-stay immersion group at WCA for the upcoming month. This unique program is designed for students to experience Williamsburg Christian Academy academics and foster a rich cultural exchange.
  • WCA's International Program: We are looking for families interested in hosting our international students for a short-stay or year-long stay. If you want to learn more about this fantastic opportunity, please contact Evelina Bialon at bialone@williamsburgchristian.org
  • Afternoon Dismissal: Please ensure your student memorizes their backpack tag number. Also, make sure the car tag is displayed in the rearview mirror until your student is safely in the car.

  • Seeking Substitute Learning Facilitators: If anyone is interested in serving as a substitute teacher or knows someone who might be interested, please send an email to Mark Kirk (Lower School Dean) at kirkm@williamsburgchristian.org with the contact information.
  • Cookout: The Lower School will host a Welcome Back Cookout for Lower School families and staff on Thursday, August 8, from 5:30-7:00 pm behind the school.  More details will be coming soon!
  • Reminder for 5th-grade parents: If your child is going on the Upper School Retreat to Camp Friendly in Palmyra, Virginia, on October 10, please be sure to send in the registration form with payment ($190). Forms can be mailed, emailed, or dropped off at the main office (attention Judy Henley, henleyj@williamsburgchristian.org).
  • Chromebooks for grades 3-5: They will be provided to students in a couple of weeks. Be sure to sign and submit the technology usage form as soon as possible. 5th-grade students will be able to bring their Chromebooks home when they receive them, while 3rd and 4th graders will typically keep their Chromebooks at school.
  • Chromebooks: Chromebook agreements were sent out this week by J'me Ferguson via Xodo. Parents must sign these agreements digitally before the Chromebook is distributed to the student.
  • PE Uniforms: This is a gentle reminder that all students must adhere to the dress code upon arrival at WCA and change into their PE uniforms even if they have PE for the first block.
  • WCA Clubs Sign-Ups: Please have your child review Mr. Badillo's email with Club descriptions. Students must register by Friday at 4:30 p.m. to guarantee one of their two choices. You can use the following link to access the survey: WCA CLUB SURVEY

  • Friday Dress Code: We are implementing a relaxed dress code for upper school students on Fridays. Jeans are acceptable, along with appropriate T-shirts, sweaters, and tennis shoes. Remember, "appropriate" means no offensive slogans or imagery. Leggings, yoga pants, sweatpants or athletic shorts, hoodies, and flip-flops are not permitted.

  • Medication at School: The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. If your child needs to take medication during school hours, please ensure it's reported to the administration office. A parent or guardian must complete the medication form, which can be found on the school website or by picking one up from the main office.

  • Lockers: Sharing lockers is strictly prohibited. Please remind your children to keep your personal belongings secure.

  • Invitation to the Parents of Williamsburg Christian Academy (PWCA): The PWCA is a dedicated partnership between parents and staff members, working to support our school and exceptional Learning Facilitators through various events and activities throughout the year. From organizing a Coffee Cart and Fall Festival to creating a Christmas Float for the Williamsburg Parade and providing snacks for Family Academic Conferences, our volunteers make a significant impact. We also host fundraising events like a Golf Tournament, Clay Pigeon Shoot, Local Restaurant Spirit Nights, and a Gala Dinner and Auction. No minimum level of commitment is required—your involvement, no matter how big or small, will help us continue to create a supportive and enriching environment for our students and staff.
