WCA Week at a Glance, 4/22-26

• Purple Up Day is on Monday, April 29, in honor of Military Child Appreciation Month. Please have your students wear jeans and a purple shirt. 
• Friday, May 17, is an early dismissal at 11:30. Childcare will be provided for Upper and Lower School. 
• We are looking for a family who would be interested in hosting a father and his 8-year-old daughter for three weeks (August 4th- August 25th). If you are interested, please email Ms. Bialon at bialone@williamsburgchristian.org 
• We are looking for homestay families and our students from Colombia for the new academic school year. We have a total of 5 students from Colombia: 3 boys for the 9th grade and 2 girls for the 9th grade who are interested in joining WCA. Please contact Evelina Bialon if you would be interested in hosting.

• 3rd Grade through 5th grade: Academy Performing Arts is on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. 
• 4th and 5th Grade: The Puppet Ministry Team, “Minor Prophets,” meets on Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
• First-grade and Second-grade field trips to the Army Transportation Museum are on Thursday, May 2.

• The Kindergarten field trip to Holly Fork Farm for strawberry picking is on Tuesday, May 7.
• Kindergarten class: Muffins with Mom is on Wednesday, May 15, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

• The 5th Grade Award Ceremony is on Friday, May 24, at 8:30 am.
• The K- 4th Grade Awards Ceremony is on Friday, May 24, at 9:30 am 
• The SY 24-25 Supply Lists have been posted on Parent Central. The lists for next year have been organized by grade level.

• The Middle School Dance is on Saturday, April 20, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the cafetorium. 
• Prom (9th-12th grade) is on Saturday, April 27, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., in the Greenspring West Clubhouse. The theme is masquerade, and the tickets cost $25. Prom Flyer

If you would like to charge your prom ticket to your FACTS account, please have a parent email Mrs. Nice at nicec@williamsburgchristian.org, giving her permission to charge your FACTS account. If your child would like to bring a guest to prom, they must have a permission slip signed by an administrator or counselor at the high school they are currently attending. All forms must be returned to Mrs. Nice no later than three days before the date of the dance. • Field Day for 6th through 12th grade will be held all day on Friday, May 3rd. Students need to wear their class colors.

Dominion Dogs will be providing lunch from 12:00 to 1:30 pm.

• Spring MAP Assessments for 6th through 8th grades will occur during 1st block on May 6, May 7, and May 9. All students are to come to the cafetorium with charged Chromebooks. 
• The Senior Thesis Parent Panel is on Monday, May 6, from 10:00 – 11:30 am. This is a capstone project for the seniors in Bible class. Mr. Vas is looking for volunteers to participate on the panel. Please contact Mr. Vas at vasd@williamsburgchristian.org if you are interested.

• 6th – 11th grades Exams are from May 20 – 24
• The US Awards Ceremony is on Thursday, May 16, at 10:00 am 
• Commencement Ceremony is on Saturday, May 18, at 10:00 am 
• Upper School students and parents receive their textbooks and supplies list at Upper School Orientation on July 13. Supplies information is provided on each course’s syllabus. At the beginning of every school year, Upper School students are provided with a three-week halo period to get supplies and texts for each course. 
• Save the Date: Thursday, October 10, 2024, the Upper School Fall Retreat Camp Friendship near Charlottesville, VA, will leave at 7:00 a.m. and return at 10:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, will be a remote learning school because of the late arrival the night before. More information will be available during the Upper School Orientation on July 13.

• The PWCA has partnered with Planet Aid to provide a way for our students and community to do something positive for the environment. Planet Aid works to raise awareness and inspire our youth to help make a difference in the world.  Planet Aid helps recycle your unwanted clothing to keep them out of the landfill and give them a second chance to be reused.
