  • From the Desk of Renee Cermak
    • The first Lower School Connections meeting will be held on Thursday, August 14th, in the library. The first Upper School Connections meeting will be held on Friday, August 15th, in the cafetorium. Both meetings will start at 8:15 am.  If you have questions, concerns, or comments you would like to submit for the meeting, please send them to me via email at cermakr@williamsburgchristian.org by Monday, August 11. I look forward to seeing new and existing families as we build a stronger community.
  • Represent Your Favorite Sports Team – Friday, August 29th: Students are invited to wear a jersey or t-shirt from their favorite sports team. Please note: Hats and sporting equipment are not allowed.
  • Donation Drive: The Women’s Club is organizing a Donation Drive for Latisha’s House. Attached, you will find a list of donation items needed. The box is located outside the main office area in the lobby. Please bring items beginning August 6th- September 3. Click here to learn more about the Latisha’s House Supply Drive
  • New Date for Welcome Back Event: The WCA Welcome Back event scheduled for Saturday, August 9, is being moved to a new date.  The rescheduled date will be Saturday, September 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  More details about the event will be shared closer to the new date.
  • Golf Tournament: We are pleased to invite you to the 12th Annual WCA Soaring Eagles Golf Classic Tournament on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at the Williamsburg Golf Club.
    This signature fundraising event supports students with opportunities to grow and thrive in a Christ-centered learning environment.
    Sponsorship opportunities are now open, offering valuable brand exposure and recognition.

  • Join the Team at New2You: Looking for meaningful work that gives back? New2You, a nonprofit thrift store, is hiring a reliable, physically strong team member for 15–20 hours/week. All proceeds support local charities and Williamsburg Christian Academy.
    Open availability (Mon–Sat, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.) is a must. Apply in person at 4500 John Tyler Hwy.

Homestay Family Highlight – The Harms Family

We’d like to take a moment to recognize and thank one of our wonderful Homestay families—the Harms. They are graciously hosting two of our international students, Annuo and Helin, and we are so grateful for the love, care, and support they provide.

Their willingness to open their home has created a nurturing and welcoming environment where students can thrive—academically, emotionally, and culturally.

  • Preschool Spirit Day – Represent Your Favorite Sports Team
    • Date: Friday, August 29th
    • Preschool students are invited to wear a t-shirt or jersey featuring their favorite sports team. Please note: Hats and sporting equipment are not permitted at school.
  • To maintain a secure environment, Pre-K families are asked to use only the front door during school hours (7:40 AM–3:30 PM). We appreciate your cooperation!

  • Carline: For those needing additional time to secure their students in a car seat, please use the flat area of the staff/leadership parking lot. Drop off & pick up guide
  • MAP Testing: August 18–22
    Students will participate in MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing during the week of August 18–22. Please ensure your child is well-rested and arrives on time each day.
  • Dress Code Reminder:  All tops worn by Lower School students—including sweatshirts, sweaters, shirts, and jumpers—must have the WCA logo, per dress code guidelines.

  • Student Government: Campaigning for student government will continue until Monday, August 18th.  The Campaign will be open to all students who have submitted their applications.  Candidate speeches will be held on Tuesday, August 19th, followed by elections on Wednesday, August 20th. 
  • Tardiness: A recent trend of increased tardiness among students at the beginning of the school day. While we understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, consistent tardiness can disrupt the learning environment and cause students to miss important instructional time. Arriving on time allows students to settle in, prepare for the day’s lessons, and participate fully from the outset. We kindly ask for your cooperation in ensuring your child arrives at school promptly each morning. If tardiness is unavoidable, please ensure your child checks in at the main office with a written note explaining the reason for the tardiness. 

  • Friday, August 29: All grades 11:30 am dismissal
  • September 1 Labor Day/ No school 
  • Family academic conferences are scheduled for Sept 17-19, and there will be no school.
  • Fall break will take place from Sept 17 to Oct 3.

  • Join us for the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 4, from 3-6 pm—more details to come!

Reminders:  

  • Sports Physicals and additional sports forms must be completed by the first practice date in order for your student-athlete to participate. 
  • Basketball Open Gym has begun for all 6th – 12th-grade boys:
    • Mondays from 5:00 – 7:00 pm
    • Wednesdays from 2:30 – 5:00 pm
